Hi, I'm Sifu Martin Brogaard

Age 4-14: I had an uncontrollable temper as a child. Started Martial Art at the age of 10 and it gave me more self-control, self-confidence and popularity.

Started out with Muay Thai at the age of 14. Tought Muay 2 years on boardingschools and 1 year in Highschool in Alabama, USA. Trained with friends who did Wing Chun, but could easily handle them with skills from Muay Thai.

Met Sifu Henning at the age of 20 at had no chance against him, so I imidiatly started training Wing Chun under him (it was at the Copenhagen EWTO organization, the biggest school in the world.

Doing this period he also learned from other Grandmasters like Gary Lam (Wong Sheun-Leung Wing Chun) and Grandmaster Wong Nim Yi (Yuen Kei San / Mai Gei Wong Wing Chun), which he was introduced to by Sifu Jesper Lundqvist.

At he age of 25 he took work at a bouncer in at Security Company with different costumers. He did it to get some practical experience. Later he has thought many doormen, and people from the Danish police and military.

Sifu Martin has studied biomechanics and didactic which has been a great resource for him at a Martin Art teacher.

After 14 years of Training Leung Ting Wing Chun training, he took a 100 days study-trip to China, to learn about the quality of Wing Chun there. He had identified the 10 most famous Wing Chun Grandmasters and planed to train at there schools and to take private lessons form them and interview them. He was there with his Friend Sifu Pui Yee how could help with the translation. He quickly found out that even though he was a recognized Sifu in Europe, he did only know a fraction of the system and many thinks was misunderstood and not trained correctly.

He chose Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung, because of his extraordinary skill level, his very logical theoretical explanations and the level of his senior students. Since 2007, he has primarily trained Grandmaster Wan Kam Leungs practical Wing Chun. Since then, he has also trained Martial QiGong, which is a great foundation for any Martial Art Style.

Sifu Martin was the first Practical Wing Chun regional direction in Scandinavia and has since 2007 been Grandmaster Wan Kam Leungs preferred assistant during camps and seminars all over the world.

In the next 10 years, Sifu Martin got a lot of interesting perspectives on Martin Art, through his training partners like Sifu Benno who is a 3 deree blackblet in BJJ, the Holland representative of Estrima Concepts and a practitioner of Yi Quan and White Crane. Sifu Kleber E. Battaglia who besides his Wing Chun also is a practitioner of Yi Quan and White Crane. Sifu Mauro Antonino DÁngelo who is a practitioner teacher of Wing Chuun, Ba Gua Zhang and Tai Chi. He has also learned alto from Sifu Ngan Tak Yee, a top practitioner of Cheng Chuen Fun Wing shun.

Since 2018, Sifu Jesper Lundqvist introduced Sifu Martin to other high level Wing Chun Grand Masters like Gwok Wai Jaam and Ku Choi Wah, who Sifu Martin personly has been trained by and has influenced Sifu Matins approach to Wing Chun. Sifu Jesper Lundqvist, who proberbly is the person in the world that knows most about Wing Chun, has also had a great impact on Sifu Martins Wing Chun understanding. Jesper has also learned Win Chun from a lot of other great grandmasters from different lineages like Tang Yik Wing Chun, Gulao Wing Chun, Cho Ga Wing Chun, Sum Nang Wing Chun, Chn Heng Gwan Wing Chun etc.
